Initial Setup & Idle Mode
Before adding games, let’s configure the basic behavior of the system.
Global Settings
Section titled “Global Settings”In the Configuration > Game Detection menu, you will find the global options:
- Enable Detection: The master switch. Needs to be on to work.
- Auto Update Category: If checked, Bearry will always try to change the Twitch category when it detects a known game.
- Notifications: Warns in Windows when a game has been detected (useful to know if it worked).
- Check Interval: How often Bearry checks your processes.
- Recommended: 5000ms (5 seconds). Less than that can consume unnecessary processing power.
Idle Mode
Section titled “Idle Mode”What happens when you are not playing anything? Idle Mode defines the “default” standard for your stream.
In the global Detection settings, you can define:
- Idle Scene: The OBS scene Bearry should return to when no game is detected (e.g., “Just Chatting”).
- Idle Category: The default Twitch category (usually “Just Chatting”).
This ensures that if the game crashes or you close it unintentionally, the stream doesn’t get stuck on the game capture black screen; it automatically returns to your camera.
